Afghan New Year celebration pt. 1

Last Saturday was the Afghan (and Iranian) New Year. I attend an Afghan-American concert and fashion show as I continue to document the community. Here are a few images from the night -

I've started a new project that i hope will begin to have some coherency in my wonder or wander...Little Kabul is the largest Afghan population in the U.S There are so many stories in this community, but I thought that if I began with food, I could then better understand culture. Well, its a little slow going as access to any family dynamic or cooking has only begun at the grocery store and a dance hall. But in time, i hope i will gain further contacts.
