I forgot to post these from my portrait series on cockfighters.

my neighbor's artichoke plant

On the way to the corner park, I would walk past my neighbor's driveway and this strange, alien looking plant would catch my eye every time. It actually took a me a few days to realize what it was exactly. And here it is, flowering artichokes.

This photo is from a self-generated stock and lifestyle assignment so that I continue to shoot and add to my archive creatively as well as build a body of work that hopefully will be representative of my lifestyle work. I prefer to shoot with natural light and in a non-stylized manner so that my images feel real.

I"m starting a new project called talking heads and this is my start so far of three young San Franciscan hipsters talking to me how they got into acting or modeling, a recent camping trip, and how Michelle (in the hat) survived a black eye from moshing.

An afternoon at the farm in Fremont

A recent shoot of my best friend and her family in Fremont. I've known Stephanie since high school, well over 15 years ago. Its been a blessing that I've been around to see her through her pregnancies and to be "Auntie LiLi" to her children.

writer assignment

SF Chron assignment to photograph writer Holly Payne who is launching a new book, "Kingdom of Simplicity," which is about a young Amish man who survives an accident that kills his five sisters. It was a treat meeting Holly, and learned that we both worked in the same building of rival newspapers in Lancaster! old halloween pic

okay so its a little twisted and morbid but i looove it. coz you know dad is making a coffin obviously for halloween and daughter loves chilln with dad and she can't wait for the day to come for trick n treating.

i love this picture. from a recent wedding....friends. have yet to post any from the wedding...but will soon! i think i want to do a series of photographs of people talking to me. it would be funny...say whaaat!! and i have bad hearing from all the loud punk rock music and going to shows and probably from years of swimming. huh?

vineyard from winter

Last Summah

Here are a few oldies from last summer that ive found again...i'm in the process of making my second book for ny and i'm digging in ditches to find new and different images that i wouldn't have thought twice about last year. i love my dog reese and he is my favorite thing to photograph bc of his quirky & playful and silly personality. i could write a more interesting blog all about reese rather than me....how he loves to eat the cardboard center of a toilet paper roll or pick up a plate of brie cheese from the counter and bring it to the living room, delicately unwrapping the plastic wrap without at all tearing into it or his cheerful growls. anyway, reese playing on the beach, the ride from dillon beach with george's friends from rhode island, and Reese being one of the passengers.. And a sunsetter of random guys atop a rock in Tomales.
