A washington post article without a copy editor. what in the world would we do without one??

on saturday i photographed a cinco de mayo party/fundraiser for relay for life and a folklorico dance group in napa at the fairgrounds. the place is nortorious for bad lighting but jumped for joy when they didn't really turn on the lights because it was fun to shoot and to catch shapes in the available light. teens danced to cumbia.
so i am finally posting some pictures with a bam and its wednesday, 10.52pm and i'm soooo tired with still much work to do. but i need a break. so here are some pictures i shot for a Real Napa, sunday features section, page. the story? well it was friday, and 5pm and i had no story for real napa. i forgot. ah well, so its napa. and not to panic. i noticed the light was gettn good. and since i dont' get to shoot much about the light and freely that i quickly jumped in the truck and headed towards napa's old highway, old sonoma road. sometimes, when i drive i take mental notes of where i'd like to shoot in case something comes up. more often than not i forget, but this time i didn't. i was curious. and in need of some pictures. the theme was spring and all things changing. and oh boy so was this light.
(pls remember that all pictures on this blog cannot be downloaded or re-published in any way shape or form. pls contact me!)

Bearing Witness: 5 Years of the Iraq War http://iraq.reuters.com/
david bowie. 5 years.
Pushing thru the market square, so many mothers sighing
News had just come over, we had five years left to cry in
News guy wept and told us, earth was really dying
Cried so much his face was wet, then I knew he was not lying
I heard telephones, opera house, favourite melodies
I saw boys, toys electric irons and t.v.s
My brain hurt like a warehouse, it had no room to spare
I had to cram so many things to store everything in there
And all the fat-skinny people, and all the tall-short people
And all the nobody people, and all the somebody people
I never thought Id need so many people
A girl my age went off her head, hit some tiny children
If the black hadnt a-pulled her off, I think she would have killed them
A soldier with a broken arm, fixed his stare to the wheels of a cadillac
A cop knelt and kissed the feet of a priest, and a queer threw up at the sight of that
I think I saw you in an ice-cream parlour, drinking milk shakes cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine, dont think
You knew you were in this song
And it was cold and it rained so I felt like an actor
And I thought of ma and I wanted to get back there
Your face, your race, the way that you talk
I kiss you, youre beautiful, I want you to walk
Weve got five years, stuck on my eyes
Five years, what a surprise
Weve got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, thats all weve got
Weve got five years, what a surprise
Five years, stuck on my eyes
Weve got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, thats all weve got
Weve got five years, stuck on my eyes
Five years, what a surprise
Weve got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, thats all weve got
Weve got five years, what a surprise
Weve got five years, stuck on my eyes
Weve got five years, my brain hurts a lot
Five years, thats all weve got
